About Gina
I'm a psychotherapist who has been in practice for twenty years. I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from New York University in 1987 and am licensed by the State of Connecticut. I have specific training in the treatment of trauma and dissociation and have worked extensively with survivors of childhood abuse. In addition, I am trained in hypnosis, meditation, and a cutting-edge psycho-spirital approach called IFS, the Internal Family Systems model.
As I work with clients, I strive to match my style to each person's needs and comfort level with the goal of finding a working edge. I have experience working with both women and men who are adults, young adults or adolescents.
Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, family vacations on Cape Cod, walks with my dog, movies and modern dance.
In Yoga we say, "Namaste," which means the light in me honors the light in you. However you define that light...true self, core self, spirit, creativity, soul, collective unconscious, intuition, chi...I work to access that light within myself and my clients. It's a wonderful resource that enhances and supports the therapeutic process.
